In 2022, a group of patient engagement professionals across the life sciences industry began meeting informally to address a shared challenge:

While patient engagement was gaining recognition, the function itself lacked common standards, shared safeguards, and a clear professional identity.

What started as monthly virtual exchanges quickly revealed something larger. The field needed structure. Since then, PEPS has evolved from an informal network into a professional association dedicated to strengthening the foundations of patient engagement as a strategic discipline.

Our Evolving Structure

PEPS has grown deliberately without losing agility. We began with a Steering Committee to launch the Society and represent the founding community.

As we matured, governance evolved into a Strategic Advisory Committee (SAC), focused on shaping long-term direction and safeguarding integrity. By shifting responsibilities and scaling our leadership teams in real-time, we ensure that the society remains lean, effective, and focused on driving the future of the industry.
